“Eagle” and “Ego” have similar pronunciations. Nanyang Siang Pau organizes the Golden Eagle Award as eagle is a clear identifiable symbol of courage and strength that SMEs should strive for. Just like an individual with strong ego-strength will approach challenges with the belief that he or she can overcome them and even excel as a result.

Eagles are majestic and bear a powerful presence, soaring high in the sky, and overlooking below with great confidence. They are often seen as leaders with the unique traits of calmness, courage, flexibility, determination, and sharp vision.

As for entrepreneurs, they should also be inspirational, visionary, dynamic, tenacious, and persistent in their efforts to expand beyond their realms for sustainable growth and development.

Golden Eagle Award aims to provide a credible and representative platform to benchmark successful businesses and give them due recognition for their hard-earned success and outstanding achievements.

Anugerah Organisasi Kemakmuran Bersama or Shared Prosperity Organization Award is an award given to the organisation that successfully implemented Productivity-Linked Wage System (PLWS). PLWS is a flexible wage system that reflects mutual benefit in which incentives are distributed in accordance with the performance or productivity of employees and employers respectively. It is an effective gain-sharing method to create a dynamic shared prosperity towards organisation competitiveness. This award is recognised by Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), Ministry of Human Resources (MOHR) and Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC).

The Golden Bull Award is one of the country’s first and most representative annual business awards, honoring the best of businesses in Malaysia by recognizing their hard-earned success and outstanding achievements.

The awards were first organized in 2003 by Expornal International and Nanyang Siang Pau. It was subsequently acquired by Singapore Press Holdings before being relaunched in partnership with Business Media International with the aim of turning the award into a regional programme.

In partnership with Sphere Exhibits, a subsidiary of SPH, the Golden Bull Award will be launched simultaneously among the business community in Singapore, China, Indonesia and Vietnam, as a part of the Belt and Road Initiative. As such, the Golden Bull Award serves two key purposes – honoring outstanding achievements and helping to promote regional growth among the award recipients.

The Anugerah Kecemerlangan lndustri (AKI) or Industry Excellence Award was introduced by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) in 1991 to recognise outstanding Malaysian companies and to encourage continuous improvement in products and services rendered. Over the years, AKI has gained a reputation for being the nation’s premier corporate recognition award.

Now, AKI uses the Malaysia Business Excellence Framework (MBEF) as the benchmark criteria in the assessment and evaluation process. The MBEF, based on the Business Excellence Framework (BEF) is used by many international organisations as a guide to promote outstanding practices in business by incorporating elements required for world class business excellence.
